The Weymouth and Portland International Regatta is the "Test Event" for the London 2012 Olympics.
This event is a trial run for the venue, competitors and officials, and is arranged to be the closest reflection possible to the Olympics next year... (more).
Twelve countries are permitted to compete in the Match racing discipline at both the Test Event and the Olympic Games, sending one team each. The ISAF World Rankings have been used to select the teams for the Test Event, qualification for the Olympics will take place over two events at the end of 2011 and early 2012.
